Kishorenagar College has a magnificent Library housed in a beautifully designed and commodious building. The College Library is named after Late Biju Pattanaik , a legendary icon, a stubborn freedom fighter, a man of indomitable personality, courage and confidence, Kalinga hero, architect of SWAVIMAN ODISHA, Ex-Chief Minister and what not . Having intensely felt the dire need of a good Library to quench intellectual thirst of the students of this rural-bred institution, Sj. Naveen Pattanaik, Hon’ble Chief Minister and able son of Late Biju Pattanaik, on his maiden august visit to this College on 25th. December,2001, contributed a handsome sum from the CM’s Problem fund for the setting up of the Library which virtually stands as a testimony to his dream and magnanimity. The BIJU PATTANAIK LIBRARY was finally inaugurated by the Hon’ble Chief Minister, Sj.Naveen Pattanaik in 2008.

The Library remains open from 10AM. To 04.30PM. during all working days and closed on Sundays and other authorised holidays.

The College Library contains text books, reference books and other books of literary importance. The Staff, the Students and others especially permitted by the Principal may use the Library Books.

RULES FOR BORROWERS OF BOOKS

  • Library cards are not transferable and required to be renewed at the beginning of each session for the students except +2 Ist.year and +3 part-I streams.
  • Loss of Library Card will deprive the students of his right to borrow books Lost of the Library Card must be immediately reported to the Librarian. A duplicate card may be issued against the lost card on payment of Rs.5.00 and for a duplicate card if it is exhausted, a borrower has to pay Rs.2.00.
  • Books will be issued on the presentation of the Library card along with the list of books a student wishes to borrow in order of preference. No books shall be taken out of the Library without the knowledge of the Librarian and until it has been entered in the loan register and signed by the borrower.
  • Each borrower must examine the condition of the books before these are taken out of the issue counter. In case of mutilation discovered later the responsibility will be with the borrower and the cost of the book with fine will be realized from him.
  • Books will be returned within the period allowed to a borrower. Students may keep books for two weeks/one week and members of staff for six weeks.
  • When the due date for return of a book falls on an authorised holiday, it should be returned to the library on the date the college opens after the holidays.
  • All books belonging to the library and in the possession of the borrower shall be returned to the library before the college closes for the long vacation, on or before the date notified for purpose.
  • Whosoever might have a library book or a journal in his possession should return it to the library in response
